Embedded computers and stuff like the old science fiction stories

I just love science fiction stories and movies and somehow, when I hear about things like embedded computer and stuff, it brings to my interest those things as they are once only part of those movies and stories and it is hard to imagine that it is now true and becoming a part of our daily lives. It seems as if the world has fast forwarded and things like touch screen monitors have become a common household things that it is really amazing to imagine. These technological advancements have found its way into our lives like for example in game consoles like the famous playstation 3 and so many more. Even older devices like old laptops can still be a part of the current trend by simply installing a PCMCIA reader for it to be USB or even wi-fi ready for the internet. The world is fast turning around and you need to keep yourself up to date with these things if you are to survive in this fast paced society and an electronically dependent one if I can say. The movies and stories have now come true and I hope society is ready for everything.
